Week four of Spanish classes are just about to wrap up for me...crazy
how quickly time ticks. I will have one more week of Spanish and then
will take a break for summer vacation. During those two weeks or so of
vacation we are headed to Argentina to renew my visa and enjoy each
others company in God's beautiful creation. I believe we all are really
looking forward to it. When we return home I will finish up my Spanish
classes and then be here for only a few more weeks, before heading to
Guatemala for a bit. My time here is diminishing rapidly.
This week I have had lots of learning to do. In regards to trusting God
for the future, Spanish classes, and Music preparation for Novenas. I
took my first test last Friday, and passed it with a grade that pleased
me greatly. Thank you God! This week I started the level 3 class with a
woman professor, which has been nice.

On Monday we
celebrated Juliana's 8th birthday...with classmates, cake, gingerbread
house making, playing, etc. It all went pretty well considering having
10 kids running around. Here are some pictures to help illustrate the event...

Yesterday was the last half day of classes for the kids before summer
break. This meant they would do a show for the parents last night
starting at nine (too late for that age in my opinion, course they never
asked me). It went very well...pretty cute. My camera didn't want to
take very good pictures there so here are a few pretty sorry shots...

Just came back from the last class of the week...which often means a
meal together with all the faculty and students to say goodbye to
students that are leaving, staff going on vacation, etc. Today was one
of those days...but a bit different because we all pitched in to pay for
the meal...'asado'! Grilled kabobs, corn, rice, etc.

Wonderful
flavor! However not so much of a highlight for me because of the
environment. A little explanation...the students leaving have seemed to
really enjoy the bars, parties, etc of Santiago and therefore decided
to have alcohol as an option of beverage. No worries...I did not
partake in this part of the meal...although was given the option. I
believe it was the first time someone has ever offered me a drink. I
would be okay if it was the last too! So many lost people, I have met
through this experience...I just hope and pray that my light is shining
bright! Here are some pictures from the afternoon....first pictures I
have taken of Escuela Fronteras...and today completed my fourth week of
attending there. About time to capture my surroundings.

It has been another happening week...and Novenas will begin tonight! So more crazy schedule to keep...but only every evening. It shall be a neat experience! Just found out about an hour ago that I am supposed to play a special during the service tonight. And it will be a song that I have never practiced a day in my life!! Not sure what the leader was thinking when he failed to mention this to me yesterday...oh well, this is Latin America...I guess that is the reason. Be flexible Kass, what's the big deal!
I want to ask you all to be in prayer for me, if you are not already. That my light would be brilliant! Also, I am praying about some things, seeking God's will about a very big decision...pray that I would have wisdom and peace. Thank you all for your prayerful support! It has been a very big adventure thus far and only just begun.
May you all have a wonderful weekend...sending warmth your way! (if only I could).
