Life as of late :)

I don't know where to begin, having not blogged in so long and so much happening in the past three months since our move, I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed.  Hopefully I will learn and the next post will follow much closer than the span between previous ones!

Here goes...

My life has been "full" lately.  Not complaining at all!!!  Full schedule, full of joy, full of mixed emotions, full of change, full of new friendships, etc.  Some have stated I look so happy in pictures and they couldn't be more right!  I LOVE my life here!!!  Simple as that.

To elaborate a bit on the "fullness" I wanted to share with you a couple of ways God has blessed me recently.

1- He has not only brought the opportunity for us to learn to love our neighbor children but has worked a love for us in their hearts that is just precious!  Their hugs, kisses, and yells from the street are so special.  Blessed!  Almost daily they will knock on our door and ask to play...not as often are we available to but when we do we all have fun!!

2-  I've been really enjoying getting to know our new church body here, spending time with our Youth group, and just hanging out with friends.  We have had several youth activities including game nights with our wonderful youth leaders, concerts (both pro and our "Pro-like" youth band...they are incredible btw). Coffee dates seems to be a great way to get to know the other young women I've had the pleasure of meeting here...not only good fellowship but wonderful Guatemalan coffee!!

3- Worship!!! My siblings and I have been given the opportunity to lead worship for the Hope for Home staff devotions each week alongside some of our good friends/great musicians!  We will be possibly joining our Youth Worship Band and/or Sunday Morning Praise Team.  We'll see how things pan out...LOTS of music opportunity for sure! :)

4- I've enjoyed art over the years.  Painting on and off, sketching here and there, you get the picture.  I'm not a serious artist I guess you would say.  But over the past couple of years I have found that I really enjoy drawing children.  Well would you know it - I've had that opportunity as well!!  Not only has it been my desire but one of our Guatemalan co-workers has asked me to help him on several projects.  I've really enjoyed not only the time spent in the arts but the fellowship has been grand!  We're selling the pictures we complete as a way of raising funds for a Christmas Party...if you're interested in more details please don't hesitate to e-mail me.  I'd love to answer any and all questions I'm able! :)

5- I haven't mentioned how beautiful it is here...this is truly a gift.  God is so good!  Words cannot describe just how lovely it really is so I will just have to share some photos.

And now to update you all on what I will be doing regularly for as long as the Lord wills...

I will be involved in Hope for Home's group home for children with Special needs.  Doing a variety of things my official job title is Nanny!! :)  As of this morning we have three children.  All so precious and needy for love and special care.  My time will be divided between working with the children in the home, volunteering at the hospital in Antigua (Hermano Pedro - basically an orphanage for children with Special needs whose families cannot or will not care for them), visiting feeding programs, playing with the neighbor children (as often as available), fellowshiping with the youth from our church, art projects, and the list goes on.

So as many have wondered and as some have asked...I think that was a pretty good summary of just what I'm keeping myself busy with.  Please pray for endurance, patience, a deeper love for all, and most importantly that I would do all these things as a result of my love for Christ not out of duty.  May my focus never veer from where it should remain.  On Him!  Please pray also that I would not busy myself too much that I don't have adequate time with my dear family. It's a struggle to find a balance but so very important.  Thank you!!

Thank you all for your prayers, love, and support!
Blessing in Christ!
