Jesús Adrian Romero
The highlight of the past week was the opportunity I was given to attend a
Jesús Adrian Romero concert!!! You all may have no clue who this
musician is but lets just say he is the Michael W. Smith of Latin
American worship artist. What made it even more of a
blessing was the fact that we (a group from church plus four mission team members) were able to purchase ground level
tickets for only 5000 pesos (the equivalent of about $10 US)!!!! It was
incredible!!
Our concert group...consisted of several Chileans, a couple Colombians, and six gringos.
The crowd knew every song and would sing along...it was a neat experience!! We didn´t get out till after midnight!! The music was wonderful!
Daviana and I in the bus.
Saturday we hired a tour bus to take us to Valparaiso and Viña del Mar which are both towns that border the pacific ocean. We did some sight seeing as well as dipped our toes in the ocean. SO frigid! It was a cold day and the ocean temperature was far from warm but still it was all so beautiful.
The kids got quite wet! But they had a good time!
We took a pose in front of the floral clock in Viña del Mar. (right)
Yesterday I took my placement test for Spanish classes at Escuela Fronteras...Found out that they are going to start me in level two next week. So until then I am working on wrapping up TEOSL studdies so that I will not have to focus on them both at once. I will keep you all posted on the progress once things start rolling. Excited to start learning more Español!! This also means that starting next Monday I will be spending a considerable amount of time on the metro...Not quite sure what I think about that just yet having experienced it yesterday. It will be a miracle if I don't get lost once!
Along with the Spanish studies...I have been asked to do some artwork for the church. So, that will be a challenge to work into the schedule but also fun...if I can get myself into the drawing mood.
These are just a few of the happenings of the past week... we have also been working on the renovation process at the church which includes lots of material shopping.
'¡Hola!' from Chile, S. A.
