Guatemala...week one

Sorry I have been bad about blogging here of late...  Yes, I did arrive in Guatemala...and cannot tell you all how much I feel at home.  This country is wonderful.  I will definitely miss it while I am away.  I have been here a week now...and so much has happened.  We have gone to youth events, children´s homes, orphanages (Amor del niño), Hospital (Hermano Pedro), Church (Nueva vida y paz), etc. as well as went on the road to take medication, money, love, and prayers to families in need around the San Antonio Aguas Calientes area.  It has all been so wonderful!  On Wednesday a couple of the Fulp girls and I headed to Antigua to spend some time shopping and with the kids at Hermano Pedro...it was a blast!  I was sitting with three or four young boys wheeled up around me...and we were just having a ball...one of them counted my freckles.  Apparently I only have three...ha ha.  It was a highlight of my week... The only downer about the experience was the fact that I checked in on a dear friend whom I met the first time I came down here...Leonel.  Some of you may know a bit about this sweet boy...others may not.  So, a brief summary of his situation.  Leonel came into HP very malnourished a few years back...and since then has gained weight and become pretty healthy.  However he has been on a feeding tube once again here in more recent months...and I just saw him for the first time on Wed. since coming last week...I was very sad to see how much this precious boy has been suffering physically.  I almost didn´t recognize him.  Please pray for Leonel...and the other children who reside at HP.  Thank you.
Also if you could keep me in your prayers as well as I am here..that my focus would be on God and His will for my future.  Pray that I wouldn´t try to make my plans trump His...but follow His leading.  Thank you so much!
